I haven't seen an official ban announcement, only that Biden planned on introducing a bill to ban it. You (personal/public) can still go to the Kaspersky US store buy, and download it. And this article hasn't been updated yet to reflect that, unless I'm missing something? But, this drone thing is not going to help their cause.

Definitely, but that does not mean that it is not true. Kaspersky can not refuse a profitable contract, even when it comes from the government, considering that their sales went way down.
