Turn off all security programs, and you have a lot off that on your PC. See if it helps.

Usually when an update seems stuck, it isn't, and you just need to give it time to complete. In some cases, it can take a few hours to finish installing an update.

If your computer has a hard drive activity light, which lights up when the hard drive or SSD is being accessed, and it stays off, then the update has frozen, and you can hold down the power button until the computer shuts off. However, if it lights up, even if only very occasionally, then the update is still running and will complete if left alone.
