Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 update for version 24H2 PCs. The new update, under KB5044384 and build 26100.2161, is the non-security preview update (C-release) for October 2024 and brings multiple bug fixes, including ones related to UI, 8.63GB undeletable upgrade data, DirectAccess, SFC scannow error, and more.

I don't have issues exactly (except SFC), only minor annoyances. I do think majority of these issues are cause by incompatible drivers and the upgrade process faults.

Driver manufacturers had time to make them compatible and work with 24H2, but some obviously didn't do that on time. And regarding upgrade process, it was always notorious for causing issues and the reason why Microsoft recommends doing clean install whenever they release a major version.

I wanted to start fresh, so that's why I installed 24H2 from scratch, but if I didn't, I'd obviously use upgrade procedure and then use recovery features to reinstall Windows through Windows Update while keeping all the apps, files and data.

24h2 is now really good after the recent updates, with no major bugs. With every major release, a clean install makes it much more stable and fast. doing it for decades and have much less problem than many people
