I may install it on a virtual machine depending on how much RAM it requires.
Can someone tell me how much it needs?

System requirements:

  • x86 processor (Linux Mint 64-bit requires a 64-bit processor. Linux Mint 32-bit works on both 32-bit and 64-bit processors).
  • 512 MB RAM (1GB recommended for a comfortable usage).
  • 5 GB of disk space
  • Graphics card capable of 800×600 resolution
  • CD/DVD drive or USB port

So can your VM handle it ?:666:

I'm likely (but not promising) to use this on VM or possibly on a netbook that is already quad booting different nix distros, with 12GB DDR3 in this rig I am sure my VM can "handle it".

I'm already running a VM of Mint 10. (Performance is pretty good with 1GB allocated) I'll get around to upgrading soon.

Katya is running well here on VM. The UI is quicker and less buggy than version 10's was. I used to see a lot of transparent windows when I would try and open various menus. Basically just a transparent rectangle instead of a menu. I haven't seen this yet with version 11.

And it ships with Firefox 4.x. :)
