Logs from the Quick Scan and Full System scan performed by Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in Chamelon mode, and from the scan by RogueKiller are attached – I don’t think anything was detected. However, this may be due to the fact that after my post but prior to following Step 1 from your post, I had already performed steps from the Live Security Platinum – Virus Removal Guide by Stelian Pilici. I’m not sure if you’d consider this “running self fixes” which in your post above you advised to refrain from doing so, however I use mobile broadband internet and it doesn’t always work at my place so in case I couldn’t get my internet to work to download any programs after you replied, I decided to try some steps from the virus removal guide while my internet was still working. The following steps were performed: 1. Originally I did start my computer in Safe Mode with Networking but then couldn’t connect online so then just restarted it in Normal mode. 2. I followed the steps to remove the Live Security Platinum malicious proxy server. 3. I followed the steps to repair my Windows Registry from Live Security Platinum malicious changes. 4. I initially tried to follow the steps to do the following from the guide but I couldn’t download any versions of the files required - I kept on being redirected to the Hotmail sign in page - but you will see below that I was later able to download the files: - Couldn’t run RKill to terminate known malware processes associated with Live Security Platinum, - Couldn’t remove Live Security Platinum malicious files with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware FREE 5. I followed the steps to check for infections with HitmanPro and used the Forced Breach mode. Malicious files were found and removed. 6. I was then able to follow the steps to run RKill, do you want me to send you the log? 7. I was then also able to follow the steps to remove Live Security Platinum malicious files with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware FREE using the on-demand scanner to Perform full scan. Infections were found and removed. 8. I then ran a scan with ESET Online Scanner – don’t think anything was found. 9. I also ran Microsoft Safety Scanner – 2 things were found. I wasn’t sure if Chamelon mode is different so performed a Quick Scan and Full System scan using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware in Chamelon mode as per Step 1 in your post. I then followed the steps in your post to run a scan with RogueKiller, 3 RKreport.txt logs are attached.
