Battle Looking for New Internet Security Suite

I don't mind buying ESET every few years, it isn't an issue in my life, Defender is as good as most but it can use more resouses than some, at least that in my recent experience - When my license is up, assuming I'm still around I may choose something else? I get F-Secure for free with my ISP, again it's heaver than ESET, it is a pity to get decent hardware to have it drained away even to some degree by a AV solution that others can do lighter? Life is full of choices.

K is the best AV there is in my humble opinion @harlan4096 uses it and I've known it since the 90's @nickstar1 offered AVG or Norton licenses, but I didn't have the courage to ask him for the license, so I bought a K license and I'm using it on my desktop and I'm loving it, I'm sorry it happened around the company but I use it without problems.

Hey everyone, thanks for all your input. I’ve read through the comments, and many of them were genuinely interesting.

As for those suggesting Defender: I’m aware it has solid detection rates and all, but I’ll be sharing the licence with someone who’s not particularly tech-savvy and someone who’d really benefit from a full-featured AV solution. And honestly, I don’t want to be the one they call every time something looks the least bit suspicious – malware, phishing, or who knows what else. Ever since I installed F-Secure for them a few years ago, those calls have thankfully dropped off quite a bit.

@Sorrento I feel that, though. I got F-Secure Total bundled for free with my Microsoft 365 subscription, and it used to be great. But then they had to mess it up with the Avira modules…

At the moment, I’m leaning towards either AVG, ESET, or Bitdefender, and I’ll likely make a spontaneous decision after testing the trial versions.

ESET, it's over taken Kaspersky I think due to political problems and conflicts. Search Amazon or eBay or online PC shops for cheaper licenses.

The most 'automatic' of these is probably BD, with its default settings depends least on user decisions. But you'll be happy with any of these choices.

I might be the only one saying this, but you should stick with F-secure. I learned it the hard way, but normies hate when you change even the smallest things in their PC. Don't fix what ain't broke.

Changed my vote, 100.

There are probably 4 things I could think of that would give someone, normies peace of mind who are used to F-Secure, and where I would feel good about them using it.

• It has great online browsing protection.
• Some who are used to the Banking Protection, that seamlessly loads through the browser compared to something like BD Safepay where it loads outside of the Windows environment, and the options that are less. And that you would need to use their PM to work along side (inside the Safepay window) of it if they were using a PM. And some of the download, printing options, even though they have gotten better lately could be confusing to non existent. It can also be a bit glitchy.
• It truly is a set it and forget it app, just one button to disable recommendations, which I never had a peep from them about.
• The Trusted Shopping Protection popup notification (Total only) could be another reassuring feature for their peace of mind (two settings).

It's probably one of the reasons why you really don't need a full blown portal to service those accounts, because it really never needs the web portal attention when using it.
It would also be easy to use and to send them a link to Norton Power Eraser and have them run that once in awhile, if needed.

F-Secure is a dead company, no news or much progress and Miko looks like he is gone into witness protection, it is basically a 3rd party AV using someone else's engine with no real advantages over the competition. If you get a cheap license then yes it's justifiable to use but there are better options.

I use Bitdefender Premium Security. I like Eset but it does not have good Ransomware protection like Bitdefender does
