@Shadowra I would love to see a battle between the dual engine antivirus that use Bitdefender as a secondary engine, like Emsisoft, G Data, Vipre, Total Defense, etc. To see which is best.

Also a similar test between the Avira engine antiviruses would be cool too. (F Secure, TotalAV, etc)

There's no trial version, is there?
No there's not. You get 1GB of cloud storage for free. But you have to pay to use the antivirus, which is part of the same app. As soon as you launch the installer, it automatically installs without any user interaction, which I don't like. Afterwards you need to log in to use the app and have the option to create an account if you don't have one.

It looks like the antivirus is just an afterthought based on the above screenshot.

Any point in doing a comparison of 2d opinion scanners? fwiw, I was working with ChatGPT the other day, and it really likes Emsisoft Emergency Kit (EEK). I like Emsisoft but have read other places EEK is not first rate?? EEK must do something deep in the system as it is immediately blocked by DeepInstinct heuristics. I guess KVRT is now "forbidden" in US??

PC Matic Antivirus apparently includes a whitelisting component. It would be interesting to know how reliable this protection function is. However, PC Matic Antivirus seems to be heavily geared toward the US market, so many programs that are popular in Europe or Asia, for example, are likely not included in the whitelist and must first be analyzed before being approved. If the whitelisting function works well, it would be a real competitor to CyberLock.

PC Matic is getting blocked by my NextDNS configuration, and has some notes on VirusTotal. They seem a bit sketchy to me.

Might be due to when they were pushing themselves at people through tv adverts etc as the greatest system rejuvenator ever which may have got them classified as a pup?

Nowadays all that is just part of their white listing AV with no particularly outlandish claims being made that I can see.

Regards Eck :)

AppGuard. Sorry if it's been done, haven't kept up with this thread or tests. PM me if you want to use my license, I don't think there is any geo location or activation limits.
I have AppGuard Solo on 2 win10_VM Guests. Very solid, trouble free. User has to learn to set it and forget it -- except when installing a app, lower protection. IIRC @Shadowra previous test of AG was NO infection, but perhaps "complicated" -- at first I thought it was complicated, until I realized it wasn't (imo).

Really want to see the test on PC Matic. Possibly if someone wrote them they would give you a free one month account for testing?
PC Mag reviewed PC Matic and also pointed out its differences to CyberLock. PC Matic appears to be problematic in use.
