Hi all

Hello to our friends in the Malwarebytes community,

Malwarebytes v5.2.1.144 component package 1.0.5088 is now available.

You can get the update right away by clicking "Check for updates" in Settings > General. Or, it will be automatically installed if you have automatic updates enabled.

Features and improvements

  • Self-protection enhancements to block vulnerable legitimate applications often used in malicious activities
  • Minor updates to Trusted Advisor to alert users when actions are required
  • Localization updates
  • Support for improved “What’s new” announcements
Issues fixed

  • Crash reductions
  • Accessibility fixes
  • Unable to open Notification Center
Known issues
Windows 11 version 24H2 compatibility

  • Users may experience a delay in startup when launching Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Reader, or when printing from Chrome browser. Fix currently targeted for November 14 2024 release.
  • Monitoring for unsecured Wi-Fi connections may trigger the Windows Location Access prompt to appear (example: Malwarebytes version 5.2.1.144 needs permission to use signals like GPS or Wi-Fi, which can be used to determine your precise location). Note: Malwarebytes does not access your device’s location. This notification is triggered because Malwarebytes uses Windows provided methods for the purpose of determining whether your Wi-Fi connection is to a secure - or insecure - access point. Fix currently targeted for November 14 2024 release.
