We have released beta build version 5.4.2.217 component package 143.0.5401

What’s New

  • Added two new toggles to Privacy Controls: manage ads in Windows notifications and personalized content in Windows Settings.
  • Introduced the ability to backup and restore the Allow List directly from the app.
  • Added quick access to the Scan Scheduler from the Scanner Card’s three-dots menu.
  • Minor UI and localization improvements.
Issues Fixed

  • Fixed an issue that could cause multiple Malwarebytes icons to appear in the system tray.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent the installer from completing in some cases.

What’s New

Privacy Controls now detect any Remote Desktop software installed on your device and let you choose whether to keep or remove it.

Scan Scheduler is now included among the interactive guide suggestions on the Dashboard.

Allow List automatically scrolls to the most recently added item for easier verification.

Issues Fixed

Fixed an issue where Web Protection blocks were sometimes ignoring items in the Allow List.

  • Free User Wizard: when users move from Trial to Free, a new guided flow helps them choose which notifications they want to receive. The new flow can also be accessed anytime via “?” → “Manage alerts”.
  • Monthly Scheduled Scan for Free users: Free users can now enable a monthly security scan, with clearer guidance in the app.
  • Added an extra safety checkbox when adding a domain or IP address to the Allow List.

Did some tests with the new beta with malware the web protection did not detect but was detected by the AL engine appears Malwarebytes is improving it's behavior engines. It smoked these new samples

  • Allow list input validation : when an item is added to the Allow List, the app now detects what you entered (IP address or URL).
  • Interactive dashboard guide: you can now permanently dismiss non-essential recommendations.
  • Scam Guard reporting: you can now report suspicious links, emails, and phone numbers with one click using the Report button in chat.
