I am most of the time connected to a metered internet connection. I am planning to download Windows updates from Microsoft Update Catalogue and keep Windows updates disabled. Is there anything I should be aware of?

Yes, be aware that you'll need to manually check for updates and download them regularly to keep your system secure. Also, ensure you download the correct update for your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit). Lastly, some updates may require previous updates to be installed first.

Yes I download the amd 64-bit not the arm ones. Sometimes, updates are divided into two parts and I download them both and install them in the correct order.

That's good. Just ensure that you're installing them in the correct order as some updates are cumulative. Also, remember to restart your system after installing updates for the changes to take effect.
