Serious Discussion Massive change in Windows size

Good Grief!! My Windows installation DECREASED in size by 20gig between yesterday and today. I did not uninstall anything and did no cleanup. Anyone else notice any huge decreases?

If your installation had a windows.old folder, it would be deleted automatically after 10 days, as it contains your previous Windows installation. Considering that Windows 26H2 is currently rolling out, it’s possible that your 25H2 version was removed automatically.

I did notice a decrease, but not 20gb worth. My system partition's used space decreased by about 6 gb. That's impressive. It also feels more responsive, snappier.

Minimal reduction of RAM usage; if you were using IoT LTSC before, you will notice nothing.

5% snappier, not W 10-level snappy.

Yup, it is something that MS did. Just checked my wife's pc and she showed the same thing. Both pcs got the "cleaning" yesterday.
