I will have to analyse what Neo Engine Modules are further integrated.

I will also have to check if unarchiving now triggers detections.

The quarantine prompt seems to be something with the Chinese translation, I didn’t find any issues in the 2-3 prompts quarantine displays.

Btw McAfee has some component Mc-fake-alert-blocker… I am not sure what is. I am trying to trigger it but I can’t, mainly because my HTML projects are not online maybe but local files. I would assume it blocks fake alerts that websites display, posing as McAfee alerts

The Real Protect static analysis and core behavioural analysis models were updates yesterday. Not sure how often McAfee retrains the models.

I'm definitely going to install it and give it a try. I got a 1 year license so might as well go through with it.

I wouldn’t call it super basic, with all features that are offered on protection.mcafee.com.

Super basic in terms of McAfee has grouped many features which others like to boast individually (for example reputation, behavioural blocking, antivirus all come together). And McAfee pre-manages the settings. But it’s not basic, it’s quite comprehensive.

I mean basic in terms of usage! I don’t have that many options to change as such; which is quite what I like! I’m not looking to thinker with the software but rather a set and forget solutionnand this is actually the one. I love it!

my first full scan lasted a long time, iirc mine stuck at 92% but eventually worked thru it to finsih, talking hours, not minutes.

I noticed randomly this on mcafee website ( finnish)

It basically says that if automatical rebillinng is not active you can use vpn 500mt/ month?

@roger_m - I tried updating with no effect, then tried your idea of doing it three times & updated to latest, now in several weeks of using McAfee my only issue is it would be nice to be able to resize the GUI, as it does cover two thirds of my 32" monitor, not a big problem - I am a bit (very) OTT about such things but manage to deal with this after soul searching as its so good in everything else, I suspect in time this will be fixed 😇

Well sorry, i just misread it completely.. i kinda misunderstood it as it said 500mb / month i thought that was free data to be used within month instead of bandwidth...anyways i gave a try on vpn even i dont use it, without vpn i get around 400-500mbs speeds but with vpn i got like 100-200

But this is not reason to not use mcafee anyways. Weird they dont mention this in ui of antivirus that its limited without auto-renewal
