Setting "center mix level" to 1 and "surround mix level" to 0 with deselecting clipping protection partially improved its sound issue.

I do not know what is wrong with its black edition!
The last stable version was released Dec 2025.
No newer versions on their official website on Github.
Only periodic download links to nightly versions on Softpedia without links to visit a website.

Yeah I wouldn't trust softpedia to be reliable information. When a stable is published GitHub then OK.

The developer might be busy or planning a major update, as the project's primary goal was to create a dark version of MPC, and MPC now includes a built-in dark mode. I checked the GitHub repository and found no indication that the project is abandoned, so let's wait and see what happens.

Definitely it is in need for UI improvements; the home cinema UI is better after the latest refinement.
