Their ublock is still version 1.62.0
When it should be 1.63.2 which has been released since march 20th
Correct if I'm wrong but isn't this a mojor security risk?

While it's always recommended to use the latest version of any software for optimal performance and security, the risk level depends on the nature of the updates in the newer version. Microsoft usually takes some time to review and update addons. You can manually update your uBlock Origin extension from the official GitHub page in the meantime.

The main problem about the regular Ublock Origin on Microsoft Addons Store is that it isnt maintained by Raymond Hill (gorhill), instead is maintained by Nik Rolls and he takes a long time to update the extension.
What I do and you can also do it if you want, is to switch to Ublock Origin Lite, this version of Ublock Origin is maintained by Raymond Hill (gorhill) and is always updated:

Edge browsing extensions take forever for updates to get approved. Firefox and Chrome are much quicker.

I use Ublock Origin Lite V3 in Edge and Chrome too, on the middle Optimal setting. I have not noticed any difference at all between V3 and V2. YouTube ads are still blocked and stupid click bait ads in my Gmail and Yahoo email and other websites are blocked too. As long as V3 keeps working and gets regular updates I will keep using it. I gave up worrying about MV3 long ago.

YouTube adds with uBlock origin lite is not blocked all the time.
Only Adguard blocks them all; however, at the expense of much higher RAM usage, some extra CPU usage, and slightly slower page loading speed.

I also have MBAM Premium running in real time with WD and the MB Browser Guard extenison in Edge and Chrome. I don't have a way to know for sure but MB may be blocking ads too. I never see Youtube ads unless I happen to watch Youtube on my phone.

The Adguard browser assistant used with Adguard for desktop is about a year out of date but it's just the integration into the browser letting you manage settings from there. Adguard desktop has been working for me pretty well even though I've only had it a few weeks.I'm sure there's a little impact here and there but not sure whether that was adguard or an app updating in the background. Anyway, my preferred way to got at the moment and default features and change to adguard dns via DOH via DNSCrypt is more secure than my ISPs ;)

I have tried controlD free dns; it's good and blocking ads.
However, cookies notices are not blocked, in addition to lack of cosmetic fix of empty ad spaces.
I can live with it, if no ad blocker is working anymore.

When I was using MB Browser Guard and UBO I always turned off the setting in Browser Guard that blocks ads. In my opinion I don't need 2 extensions trying to do the same thing. I very rarely use Youtube but I have yet to see any ads using UBO or UBO Lite.
