So this add-on isn't useful without O365?
I don't have any office license

You can get basic spelling and grammar for free but not the advanced advice - 'refinements'. It's a similar proposition to Grammarly.

Blog post: Editor’s Similarity checker in Microsoft Word – helping writers with originality and attribution

Similarity checker is currently available in Office Preview builds in Microsoft Word for Microsoft 365 EDU A3 and A5 customers. Microsoft plans to make it generally available to all the Office 365 users in July with the exception of Consumer and Enterprise users who will get the feature later this year.

Got an update to version 1.1.5 today with one massive improvement:
With the previous version you must manually switch languages (English and Dutch for me), but with this version you can select up to three proofing languages.
So, no need to switch manually anymore

Unfortunately, I can't find a changelog

With my Microsoft 365 account I get more functions:
Advanced grammar
Clarity
Conciseness
Formal language
Vocabulary
Punctuation conventions

Did you need to login into your Microsoft 365 account? Or is using a online Windows account and Edge syncing enough?

Because i use my Browser profiles solution and don't want adding my Microsoft account into the default Browser profile.

Yes, the chrome version has not the multiple language selection yet, but hopefully will get that update soon.

Also like the Online Office for free, even if i doesn't need it yet.
