Troubleshoot Missing lsm.exe file in windows 8.1

the file C:\windows\system32\lsm.exe does not exist

Steps taken to resolve, but have been unsuccessful

no steps taken

here is a log of process monitor.
So many process a looking for file C:\windows\system32\lsm.exe

But it does not exist.
i search on another computer with windows 8.1 recently installed . there is no such file named lsm.exe

instead there is lsm.dll

• So many processes looks for this same executable lsm.exe

Isn't lsm.exe a Windows 7 and maybe a Vista file not 100% sure though. It is a bit weird. Can't check Widows 8 because i do not have it.

About the lsm.dll situation: Your system is fine. You do not need to worry.

I have tried Widows 8，it does not exist.

This is more responsible on WIndows Vista to hold server connections, one of the issue in Vista about memory leak when playing Windows Media Player that cause unresponsive and unstable system.

No need to worry about if nothing happens wrong to your system.

SOLVED

It is qihoo 360 total security 6 fault.
qihoo's driver gets loaded in all other application processes and causes searching for "C:\windows\system32\lsm.exe" file which does not exist in windows 8.1

After uninstalling qihoo 360 total security 6 this problem is solved.
