Wireguard for Windows hasn't been updated in years. It's abandonware. Last time I submitted a bug report it was fixed though but that was years ago. Linux seems OK with newish releases. It wouldn't surprise me if the original Wireguard developer got a tap on the shoulder by higher ups/LEA and was told to stop developing it for at least Windows if not all versions. To be honest I'm not sure about this move, as bazang said OpenVpn is well maintained and has a very active community. This is putting all your eggs in one basket as they say.
