Norton does not release versions by calendar year. Retailers may include calendar year with their marketing / packaging....but, current Norton Security version numbers are not related to calendar year.

However if you look at the release notes, you will find the recent updates are all about bug fix and performance improvements, and no new features (apart from Norton Crypto) were added.

yes norton's antivirus tech is lagging behind other avs.I expect to see updates on the Anti-Virus component
