HP Omen could be the first laptop with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
Many of the best gaming laptops currently come equipped with a mobile version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, but there’s new evidence that a laptop version of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti could be on the horizon.
That’s going by a Geekbench listing spotted by WCCFtech that seemingly details an HP Omen gaming laptop running a mobile GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. As such, more powerful gaming laptops could soon be on the way.
In real-world performance terms, we could expect mobile RTX 3080 Ti performance to chase that of a desktop GeForce RTX 3080. We’d predict a laptop with a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will deliver well over 60 frames per second in games running at QHD and maximum settings. Expect gaming at 1080p to deliver frame rates that could take advantage of high-refresh rate displays, now common in gaming laptops.
It's worth bearing in mind that these early benchmarks are likely based on pre-release versions on the RTX 3080 Ti and so could be higher once Nvidia and laptop makers optimize the hardware and GPU drivers.
