Fixes and Improvements​

  • Crash Fix: We’ve addressed an important crash issue related to enabling new redesigned opera://history.
  • Compatibility Update: The Microsoft Whiteboard web app (whiteboard.cloud.microsoft) now works correctly with Opera.
  • UI Tweak: The History Sidepanel now displays the full page name, even at default width, so you can easily identify your visited pages at a glance.

Known Issue​

  • We’re aware that the “Import your data” slide in the Opera intro currently appears empty. Don’t worry – this will be fixed in the next release.

A fresh Opera update has just landed!

This build introduces our refreshed split-screen feature, now available for early testing. It’s still under development, so you may encounter a few bugs – but we’d love to hear what you think and what you discover as you try it out.

We’ve also included a fix for the issue with the Sonic theme not behaving as expected.

Known issue:

  • A crash may occur when dragging a group of tabs between windows on macOS.

The first update of Opera Developer 126 brings a focused set of fixes and upgrades:

  • Core updates: Chromium updated to 141.0.7390.125.
  • Stability fixes: Numerous crashes resolved, including issues in window handling, extensions tabs queries, Linux ARM startup, macOS tab dragging, popup windows, Opera Account popup, and TabStrip cleanup.
  • Split Screen improvements: Fixed crashes when adding/removing pages, corrected swapped address bars, proper single-page reload, ability to remove/close pages, better hover area for resize/swap, and menu commands added.
  • UI & behavior fixes: Easy Files shows “all files” reliably
  • Installer: German installer link fixed.

Known issue:

  • Dragging tabs from Tab Island on Window1 to Window2 may cause a crash. We are aware of this and are actively working on a fix.
  • AI button is still under construction while we work on improving its appearance.

Key highlights:

  • Resolved an issue where the “Open in new window” option from Slack in the Sidebar opened a blank page.
  • Addressed SD tiles being cut off.
  • Corrected VPN navigation from Easy Setup so it now opens the VPN section directly.
  • On Linux, Opera now correctly switches to the system’s default language.
  • Crashes when detaching meeting tabs from split screens or closing the browser on Mac with the sidebar setup panel open have been resolved.
  • Fixed color theme highlights for active and hovered tabs.

Known issues:

  • The “System” theme option in onboarding currently applies light mode instead of respecting system dark mode.
  • Importing history from Chromium-based browsers may cause a crash.
  • Crash occurring in when adding 3rd panel to split screen.
