Split Screen got a lot of attention: fixes for restoring Split Screen from different places (macOS system menu, Recently Closed), showing Split Screen pages in “Search in tabs,” and improving how recently closed Split Screens persist between runs.
Stability improvements: multiple crash fixes, including crashes related to Sync settings, Split Screen + tab islands, Google Meet while creating Split Screen, and Easy Files in the sidebar overlay.

Dragging a tab island with a Meet tab detached from Split Screen could crash.
Creating Split Screen via drag & drop during an active Google Meet call could crash.
Moving the last tab out of a tab island into Split Screen didn’t always close the island.
Split Screen didn’t always move correctly with a tab island to another workspace.
Better handling when closing Split Screen is interrupted.
Crash fixes
Fixed a crash when opening Easy Files in the sidebar overlay.
Fixed a crash in Sync settings (SyncUserSettingsImpl::SetSelectedTypes).

Known Issue
On Windows, opening Google Meet may cause the tab/page to crash shortly after launch. This issue is known and under investigation.

Key highlights:
Several crashes have been fixed, including issues related to video overlays and file selection.
Updated extension popup appearance.
A range of bug fixes have been implemented, addressing issues with history management, tab restoration, extension popups, and overall interface consistency.
Volume Booster now goes up to 500%, giving you way more control when audio is too quiet.

A new Developer build is available, with an updated Chromium base and several fixes across the browser:
Chromium has been updated to version 148.0.7778.40.
The Browser Connector in Toolbar is now enabled.
Vertical tabs received several fixes: dragging a link from a webpage onto the vertical tab strip now correctly opens it as a new tab, tabs no longer swap positions when switching between them quickly, and the duplicated tab marker has been removed.
The Volume Booster issue where clicking the dot jumps the level to 98% has been fixed.
Known issue: Google Meet PiP buttons require multiple clicks to respond. We’re aware of the problem and will be working on a fix in the upcoming builds.
