New Update Osprey Browser Protection discussion and updates

1. It depends. Most will, just for testing.
3. That exists with system policies. You can set default settings, lock the panel, remove buttons on the block page, and even hide the panel entirely.
1. It's a deal-breaker for me, particularly on kids' systems. From my viewpoint, the new services should have a disabled state.
3. Why not include a kids mode selection in the right-click menu? Are there any specific reasons for this?

In Vivaldi, you cannot see the "ticks" in Osprey's right-click menu.
In Osprey, Edge has "Ignore frame navigation" enabled, but Vivaldi has it disabled.

One thing that I believe would make Osprey stand head-and-shoulders above the rest is the ability to block malicious iFrames without blocking the whole site.
Use McAfee WebAdvisor for this. It can detect them if the iframe is loading from a known malicious site.

New services will only be added as official partners from now on, and they will always be enabled by default. That's fairly conditional for them being added to Osprey.

As far as a kids mode, I don't think that's needed. Configuring Osprey is easy, and kids' devices also need malware protection, so additional filters won't hurt.
Putting a kids mode in the right-click menu would be pointless, as kids can just.. right-click it and un-toggle it. Kids aren't that stupid. What would you want in a kids mode?

Vivaldi has been broken for months. I submitted a bug report, but the browser has no support team behind it at all. I wouldn't use it.

Good,

now you have work :

Getting Started (Api reference : Authentication)

Ask them there authorization before next version please
or remove Control D, because -> Integrations & Trusted Partners (trusted partners) you are not a trusted partner.

have a nice day ^^

PS : Never again treat me as a schizo : New Update - Osprey Browser Protection discussion and updates, especially when you don't know who is behind this account.

@Foulest uses public Control D DNS, which is free to anyone. You don't have to be a partner to use it.

I have written permission from Control D's owner himself... They are an Official Partner of the project, meaning they approve the usage of their services in Osprey. You have no idea what you are talking about. Please, check your house for a gas leak.

I understand the partners' conditional terms. New services may have false positives or other issues. For example, I don't enable a service with ad blocking. Therefore, Osprey might not be suitable for our systems.

I've already mentioned to you that kids mode would only display blocking and safety info. It's about simpleness for kids, "not their abilities"; otherwise, Osprey isn't suitable for families since kids can simply hit continue to bypass the protection.

I see your extension's purpose and reasoning and hope it succeeds, but Osprey doesn't suit me/us. I appreciate your time!

None of Osprey's services block ads or trackers, not even AdGuard. Osprey just filters out malicious and phishing websites.

You should check out Osprey's policies. They allow you to set default settings, hide the protection options panel, hide elements on the block page, etc., completely preventing kids from bypassing the protection.

Does Control D Family block malware/phishing but not ads and adult content?

I get some of the feedback given here, and I'm sure @Foulest appreciates it to help improve the app, but at times I think we ask or want to much for what's been handed to us on a silver platter for free?

But, it could just be me :)
I understand. I didn't ask for features; I inquired about how two specific features work. I also mentioned the possibility of proposing a kids mode. My policy is to limit these discussions to three to five responses. After that, if we disagree, I end the discussion. I did that here.

And it wasn't so much as you, but with the previous page(s) as well. I absolutely respect you and your thoughts and insights on this forum :)
