this am Osprey issued what I think is a false+, I was using mullvad vpn and entered URL for connection check and I I got
Warning: This website is unsafe
Osprey has blocked access to this website. It is unsafe to continue.
If you are the owner of this website, please contact the security provider to resolve the issue.
URL: Connection check | Mullvad VPN
Reported by: Emsisoft Web Protection
Reason: Malicious

I find this atypcial as I get very few false+ from emsisoft (EAM) and assume their web protection would be the same, or someone compromised mullvad...??

Same for me, it was blocked.

Thank you for your testing @Shadowra

@Foulest Is there any way to customize the settings of the extension with a GPO by chance? Thanks!!

I believe it's a is false positive here as it was also blocked by Osprey -> Emsisoft Web Protection.

I got a false positive from Bitdefender and G Data. I reported it and chose to continue anyway. Had no trouble accessing the site, and a few hours later I got emails from both confirming it was a false positive and saying the site would be removed from their detections.

Great but still curious to me as the mullvad check site has been around for awhile, so I assume something changed on that page triggering red flags...

Emsisoft doesn't flag it malicious rather potentially unwanted and osprey should be fixed to not count potentially unwanted as malicious
But yes I don't agree on the classification of emsisoft either as that site isn't potentially malicious

Seems like the community of osprey users benefit back the providers with false positives reports and it's nice to see osprey benefiting everyone

It's a false positive. I've been using the Emsisoft Browser Security & BD TrafficLight extensions for many years, and they've never blocked a single page as a false positive, this is the first time I've seen this happen. @simmerskool first reported the Mullvad site being blocked and then @Trooper as soon as I saw his post, I didn't think twice about it and immediately visited the Mullvad page to check what they were claiming, and as soon as I opened the Mullvad page Osprey blocked it, but my Emsisoft Browser Security extension was disabled in my browser so I activated it and then the Emsisoft extension blocked it, I visited other categories like downloads from Mullvad's website were also blocked by the Emsisoft extension. I edited my post twice, you can see that it was edited, because I hadn't attached the screenshot of the block confirming that it was a false positive. Just a reminder for those who use Osprey Browser Protection you can report false positives through the Osprey extension itself there it takes you straight to the AV developer @Foulest did a great job and he thought about that too before launching the Osprey Browser Protection extension. ;)
