Not 100% sure about OTP browser extensions or multi-device functionality.

Having to hunt-up my phone to get a code is a nice 'seperation of power's' for account access through my laptop I feel.

When you log in to an app or site on your phone, do you need your PC nearby for the 2FA code? Or use a code from the same device.

I hate web browsing on my phone so rarely do it, my laptop or desktop are used for browsing type functions.

So, I find the separation of function's quite useful.

As far as logging-in to phone apps, most now accept biometrics or OTP.

I’ve been pretty cautious about giving out my personal phone number, especially when setting up 2FA on different apps. So, I decided to try using random phone numbers australia for some of the verification steps, and it turned out to be really helpful. It’s a quick way to get through the process without needing to share my actual number. This worked well, especially when trying out various apps.
