@MalwareHunter,
I have a lot of software (even too much ..) but none of these requests .NET framework, so no problem here.
Your choice is your, OK.
If you can use all your softwares without it, good for you. I think at least the half of my softwares (so about 80 program) requires v3.5 or newer. But I'm not an average user...So, you are right here.
But how you imagine he changes the software's requirements about .Net Framework? If it requires the framework, it means that it (or a part of it) has been coded in .Net...He can't remove the framework requirements without recoding the software in an other programming language (if you ever coded something bigger you can imagine how hard it can be) or changing the modules which requires the framework to other modules which not requires the framework.

Yea. I just found that out. At first I thought that there was a remove application framework option, but that does something else. I guess I'm stuck with .net until I recode this from scratch.

Yes. If you code in .Net, it will requires the framework, but no problem with it.
According to this:
Code:
http://www.hanselman.com/blog/HowManyPCsInTheWorldHaveTheNETFrameworkInstalled.aspx
I think at least the 85% of the PCs with Windows Vista (or newer Windows) have the v3.5 or newer installed. The machines with XP will die out soon, so these aren't problem anymore. You only need to recode it if you want to make available your browser for the rest 15% and for the users with other OS. But it will everything, but not easy. And also who knows what will the future will bring about the framework. It will be installed on every Windows machines within years, or it will disappears...

.NET is essential for now since it allows many developers to easily deploy their apps. Not the best way to program apps, but it's easy. I should've probably changed the requirement since Polarity uses the client profile and not the full framework.

Thank you for your feedback! I'm not sure what you meant by the slimboat browser. As for the weather, we checked it so that it should work for international locations. All you need to do is enter the city name and the name of your country in English.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I will see if I could implement WOT and a cached link. The only problem with using WOT is that it contains bias in its reviews and websites can suffer from this. If I were to implement WOT into the search engine, it may be disabled by default.

- Yes, I'm entirely with you, about WOT.
WOT it's not very accurate, and has political bias too .. bur it's better than nothing, for average user.
Yes disable it by default, like DuckDuckGo, if you wish.
To have DuckDuckGo with WOT implemented, I use this link : https://duckduckgo.com/?kf=fw&kh=1&k1=-1&kl=us-en&kad=en_US
WOT is implemented too on Privatele Search (and Qrobe.it, and Ahdle.com) : https://privatelee.com

- I use too another Search engine, AVG Secure Search, which has 'Secure Search' feature : http://isearch.avg.com/tab?cid=&cklang=en
at the letf of its page, it show rating for: All sites, or Risky / Dangerous, or None - to notch by user.
Read about this 'AVG Secure Search' security feature: http://www.avg.com/us-en/secure-search

* Some other search engines are proxified (first click only! ha)..
- like Gibiru : http://gibiru.com/
- and Lukol : http://www.lukol.com/

* Another big security solution we have with the possibility of search by 'proxy' link (it's the best solution, I think) - look on private secure search engine Ixquick (and its clones) : https://www.ixquick.com/eng/ - like Startpage.com : https://startpage.com/eng/

- Our topic: List of Best Search Engines on the Web : http://malwaretips.com/threads/list-of-best-search-engines-on-the-web.5731/

But surely you know all this; I post these links for those who cannot eventually know this ..

Yes, I have used these search engines before and am aware of them. I will see if any modifications to Polarity Search such as incorporating WOT is feasible.

i would like to try it but i will not touch it if i can not uninstall it from control panel > uninstall a program.
I totally understand what you are saying and we do test the uninstaller regularly to make sure that it works. So far it has worked on two of my machines, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
