Post your Speedtest.net and Pingtest.net results

I'm still on 1/0,5 Gb/s and I think I will never go higher. If my ISP gave me better speed for the same price I'd downgrade to cheaper package which has 1/0,5 Gb/s. No need for higher speed when I don't have a use for it.

Same philosophy on my end, I can pay more monthly to get higher speeds I wouldn't use or be able to take advantage of, so this is good enough for me.
Running my laptops and Roku stick has never been a problem, no buffering issues (using a ASUS router).

To tell you about my connection, 99% of the time, I don't need it (but I have a package that includes Netflix, so that's fine with me). I got it because there are two of us who are always online, and I have a NAS that I use to share files with my family and friends ;)

I stick with the same philosophy when it comes to my phone too. I have the cheapest postpaid plan mobile network I use, has in their offering. It includes unlimited calls/SMS/MMS & 20 GB data (after unlimited at 64 kb/s) for 13,03€. This could be cheaper as we have three phone plans, but I'm not willing to tie myself into 24 month contract for 2€ discount; not worth it.

Some of you might ask how could 20 GB be enough for someone in 2025. Easy. Constantly on Wi-Fi at home, constantly on Wi-Fi at work so these 20 GB are only when I'm out.

There are cheaper offers with other networks, but the one I use is constantly cheapest of them all. Others usually offer discount for a few months at max.

Couldn't you get lower speed and Netflix separately, for cheaper price?

I don't think any of your friends or family would notice the speed drop from 8 Gb/s to 2 Gb/s when accessing NAS... 😄

Yes, I'm looking at my offers

(2GB/800Mbps for €23.99 compared to the €51 I'm currently paying LOL :ROFLMAO: ).

Ok, that would be 27€ saved each month, or 324€ per year. Now add your mobile plan into calculation and you'll see how much money exactly you could use for something else. 😂
My Android phone speed. 5G > 4G > WiFi. I have 500 Mbps WiFi, yet phone is unable to handle it, so I disable WiFi for the sake of unlimited Mobile Data (300GB for 12€)

Are you sure it's the phone that is the problem and not the router? What phone do you have?
Unless you have extremely old device (say from 2015 and before), you should get at least 200 Mb/s over Wi-Fi.

I prefer using Wi-Fi as it's always faster and doesn't drain battery nearly as much as mobile data does.

Poco X5 Pro and Asus TUF-AX3000 V2 give me this over Wi-Fi:

I have a 20 gb plan as well for the past year , previous to that I had a 2 gb plan for over 10 years. Never went over my data limit once. :) Don't have my phone welded to my hand 24/7 and mostly use it at home over wifi.

That's because we're not addicted to social media. Sure, I have Reddit and TikTok account (on which I never post), but it's not something I couldn't live without or something I have opened 24/7.

Those that constantly scroll on Facebook/Instagram/Reddit/TikTok/YouTube they tend to run out of mobile data fast.
