Post your Speedtest.net and Pingtest.net results

Ok, that would be 27€ saved each month, or 324€ per year. Now add your mobile plan into calculation and you'll see how much money exactly you could use for something else. 😂

24€ fiber + 16€ mobile (Unlimited everything - 200GB of 5G and 40GB abroad in 130 countries) - same provider as my fiber (Sosh Orange France) ;)
= 34€/months + Netflix 7,99 (with Advertising... doesn't bother me, Netflix prices in France are quite expensive...)

So just by changing plan(s) you'd save 408€ per year, or 816€ for two years (if you're under contract). Not counting Netflix. 😯

My internet service provider wanted to charge me €60 in migration fees.
I got angry, canceled my contract, and went to see the competition.

One operator offered me a better deal: shared 5Gbps fiber internet (2.5Gbps on one Ethernet port, 1Gbps on a second port, and the rest via Wi-Fi 7) for €23 + mobile (unlimited calls, texts, MMS, and 5G internet for €9.99). Obviously, I jumped at the chance :)

I suppose a very long Ethernet cable to your place is not reasonable? I suspect, apart from Ethernet losses, La Manche (English Channel) may be the biggest issue?? Still its an idea??

While Fast show me these results; are latency figures acceptable?
I have difficulty browsing MT and several other websites

Just got fiber last Friday. The download is the same as Comcast, the upload is certainly different. Already backed up multiple TB to the cloud. The installer was here for a while and I thought there was a problem. He told me he was getting no loss on the light coming in and his boss didn't believe him. So he was getting the proof because he told his boss "I'm just that good" and his boss said "no you're not". It was worth the extra few minutes.

I'm quite happy about my download speed of about a gig, unhappy about the upload being a tenth of that, having Synchronous broadband would be an advantageous, several fibre providers do that but at the moment not here, the main providers are BT Openreach or Virgin, I believe Virgin are thinking about Synchronous, but most people just look at the DL speed so there just isn't the will? With a new recent full fibre install BT have done I think they really missed an opportunity to offer a better service, many customers here still opt for much slower than a gig just to save a pound or two so I reckon customers get what they ask for.

Edit: I ought to be thankful for a reliable system that’s pretty cheap especially compared to how it used to be with dial up that cost many times more in real times so I'll stop moaning... :):):):)
