899 Mbps down / 36 up
Spectrum with cable TV $368 US/mo

no wonder I cannot afford new pc hardware...
Just cut the TV and save money. You can watch TV channels online for cheaper and free. I get 1000/500 for 34€ for unlimited landline (that I almost never use) and internet service. I could get it cheaper, but we don't really have time to start the switching process so we're using the one we use for years. Beside, it does work without any issues so...
Yep, I knew we were with the same company, that's why I took that 100Mbps offer. Right now I have Spectrum TV Choice on Roku which includes 15 channels you choose from (SyFy, History, Discovery etc.), above and beyond the local channels CBS, NBC, ABC etc. that come with it. I then also included the Enhanced channel package that I couldn't live without the, Science, American Hero Channel, and the Smithsonian channels. Some of the Roku apps have those 3 channels as add-ons, and some have the on demand version. I tried Sling Blue, but I really like all of the local live TV channels better than on-demand.
I know your situation is different as well as your needs especially for more internet bandwidth, but thought I would post the below, just for comparison. Oh, and I did pay Mays bill

I'm amazed you guys still watch TV. Here, across the ocean, we don't watch TV that much except the news and sports. I have a TV set in my room and I haven't had it on for months. I prefer my PC for watching content because it allows me to do multiple stuff simultaneously.
Around 60% people here have some kind of TV subscription, while 40% watches free TV over DVB-T2. Pay TV used to be expensive, but ever since the law changed and EON came, prices are going down and more competition is coming. We came to the point where ISPs are literally bundling TV service for free in personalized offers as they are desperate for users. EON TV service, with all channels including all sports channels that exist in Croatia is like 11,90€ or 12,90€ if you don't have Telemach mobile service already.
my internet / tv evolved over the 31 years at this house. first C-Band 16 foot satellite dish, then DirecTV, then back to pre-Spectrum cable, then Spectrum took over the cable, while at the same time we have AppleTV box(es). I'm sure there's some (a lot) of redundancy on TV side of this. No real competition to Spectrum in area (that I am of). At least it all works 99.8% of the time
They can charge you whatever they want because they know you have no other options than pay. I'd consider getting Starlink if it's cheaper and giving up on TV service. The less services you get, the cheaper you'll pay. Beside, once you're start to cancel their services, they will beg you to stay and offer you more for less price.
In France, things have come a long way.
Since the arrival of the competition, offers have started to include Premium content (we have an operator that includes Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Universal+ and a pay-TV film channel), and that's the offer I have.
The box also has some very advanced functions (such as NAS, management of Linux VMs directly on it, Torrent, etc.).
There are other, less advanced packages with high speeds, such as 8Gbps/1Gbps FTTH fibre for €24, or 5Gbps/1Gbps without TV for €25
(We don't have coaxial in France any more, or 2 small operators focusing on just a few small towns).
Things like this are starting to happen here in Croatia. Telemach started rapidly building their FTTH network and offer a lot more than competition for cheaper price, so the competition had no other options than start doing the same. It's interesting that the network which was ranked the worst in Croatia (Tele2) transformed to the best one in just two years and suddenly started offering the highest speeds you can get as a private customer (2/2), while other are stuck with 1/0,5.
Things were so bad at some point that competition started cutting fiber cables of Telemach and everything went to the national regulator which had to intervene.

For Comcast/Xfinity being named "worst company" it has never once had any downtime for me in the 7 months.
I think they were named the worst companies because of their policies towards their customers, not regarding the service uptime.
Assuming ISP= Spectrum(?) what makes you think it will get its speeds symmetrical? It's been max 40 Mbps upload "forever" here -- is it symmetrical in other US locations? I used to check DSL reports regularly, but not for some time now-a-days.
When I switched my plan at the local Spectrum store last month, a rep mentioned that it was something that will be happening. I'm not sure when, or what areas first though. I had mentioned it as when I previously had the 300Mbps last year, the upload was ~12, and now it's 20 -23, that's when he said they're working on getting it symmetrical.
Oh, they know nothing and they'll say anything just to keep you as a customer. Exactly the same situation here.
I never really understood why the US has tiny upload speeds. Here in Europe it's usually symetrical or at least not that low. Usually upload it's half of the download speed.
My plan is for 400Mbps, but only 100Mbps arrives because the cable isn't Gigabit, so it doesn't exceed that speed. I need to buy a Cat6 cable and change it to give me the full speed offered by my ISP.
Get that cable ASAP! It's not expensive and you're just wasting money now.
