I understand. I live in a "developed" nation with 3rd world infrastructure except for the wealthy, i.e. speed throttling via pricing. Even though our speed is technically poor, I rate our ISP as "Good" for their respect of net neutrality.

I hired 100 Mbps asymmetric but for wifi does not give more, Cable would give more.
But in my country, the Internet is expensive compared to other countries in the UE. € 40, it's not a gift.

Download is great, upload is not. But it’s quite consistent, though way too expensive.

Fiber came somewhat recently in my area, which is surprising based on where I live. Funnily enough, the cost per month of it, even past the introductory prices, is still less than the previous ISP and with manifold times the speed. Internet was advertised to be symmetric 1 Gbps FTTN.

It appears mine is one of the few where the upload speed is greater than the download speed. Too bad I don't upload that much..

Precisely, though It does not matter so much for me as I don't need more speed. Here even mediocre speed is expensive compared to many other countries.

My provider today upgraded my connection for free (from 50/50 to 100/100):

Tested in my Mac connected to the 5Ghz wifi

My desktop PC (Vostro 3250) coudn't connect to de 5GHz wifi, so I coudn't take advantage of all the speed (I had 100/100 and I only got around 40/50). So I decided to buy from Amazon the TP Link archer T2UH and I have to say I have had better results than I expected:
