Go over to the Avast forum and ask if anyone is having issues with the newly implemented DNS protections.

I am not sure as I haven't tested the recent Avast, they integrated DNSCrypt or something similar. Just a FYI - there are numerous issues with DNSCrypt that cause annoying intermittent internet breakage.

If your issue is intermittent complete network blackout, then it could be Avast SecureDNS. If it is just some particular applications, then it probably isn't SecureDNS - but it still could be - so it's best to ask on the Avast forum.

You have to verify whether the internet breakage is a complete breakage or limited only to specific internet-facing programs (like only browsers) to proceed further.

I use SecureDNS (can be slow at times) and have not received any errors, but I do not use HTTPS scanning by Avast. Maybe it's related to that?

Can you try disabling avast's HTTPS Scanning (save changes) and re-test.
