- Added support for Windows 8.1 (32/64 bit).
- Fixed Windows 8 Live Tiles issue.
- Added version query check confirmation.
- Updated drivers reviewed and tested by Microsoft Winqual.

* Please uninstall the existing version of Privatefirewall and reboot system before installing this update. Custom Process Monitor, Firewall and other product settings can be preserved by exporting (File -> Export Settings) before uninstalling, and importing (File -> Import Settings) after installing updates.

which is better paid Online Armor or free privatefirewall just wondering what others opinion is
 
only 1 issue with privatefirewall and never been actually addressed, the update process requires un-installation and reboot each time! i find that annoying.

Yes that is quite annoying but almost the same applies to Online Armor and Comodo, if you don't uninstall before upgrading you can run into all kinds of problems. I think it has to do with the network and boot drivers, the system can register new drivers until the old ones are uninstalled.

Why does this firewall freeze the whole system upon installation?

The GUI needs a major makeover,it looks awful.

other than that it seems a good firewall.

i think after installing the freezing part after the first start is when it's learning about your processes and software installed sort of like Online Armor does on it's first start

That's pretty much it, except it doesn't flash a banner on the screen alerting to it being in learning mode for a brief period.
