Proton has introduced Easy Switch, a migration tool designed to help users transition from Gmail to Proton Mail with minimal hassle.

The tool allows users to import Gmail data into Proton Mail, forwards incoming Gmail messages to the Proton inbox, and enables sending emails from a Gmail address directly within the Proton Mail interface.

The goal is to support a gradual switch instead of requiring users to change email providers all at once. Easy Switch is now available to Proton Mail users.

The combination of features allows users to:

• Keep their existing Gmail address active while transitioning
• Access recent Gmail conversation history inside Proton Mail
• Receive new Gmail messages in their Proton Mail inbox
• Send replies from their Gmail address using Proton's interface
• Send and receive end-to-end encrypted messages with other Proton users
