In terms of the
value for the AV/Suite you're using, Kaspersky and ESET are top.
Kaspersky's
Automatics Exploit Prevention(PDF) is similar to EMET for Windows.
Also how to configure: http://support.kaspersky.co.uk/9777
ESET's
Exploit Blocker along with it's Advanced Memory Scanner.
Avast has a Software Updater, however the automatic version is only in the Premier version. Yes, Internet Security suite users lose out. The AV is standard through Avast Free, Pro, Suite, Premier. Except the where the Manual Sandbox and SafeZone are not included in the Free version.
Usability varies on different systems, so it up to you to try the software for yourself.
Not sure if this has helped, but for a free product, avast is excellent, but that's it. Nothing more.
