Serious Discussion Quick Play with McAfee

I have never yet clicked the protection score diswot button as I feel that may evoke McAfee thinking i need their input on that, I wonder if that changes anything??
You will get a low score if you you're not using the other features such as identity protection, the password manager etc

@Divine_Barakah Which is exactly why I have never used that 'feature' & wont, I'm not interested in add-ons which is why I have the most basic McAfee (& a single user deliberately) also with most AV solutions, I can sort out other things myself, but maybe?? that's why I don't get pestered? just a theory :rolleyes:
Same here. It's bloatware and necessary for me. The same with Norton, Avast and AVG extra features and system optimizer.

I bought my license on G2A. I'm wondering if the reason why I dont receive notifications is due to my license being based in Brazil haha
Which could bring up a good point as far as on my end. In my case, I bough my license through Best Buy USA at a very low price, and not from the McAfee website. So I'm not sure if that affects my only getting 2 right corner pop ups when I first installed McAfee recently...so far?

When I had contacted McAfee support about ID Monitoring to show as ON in the UI, she mentioned that I hadn't registered an online account with them, and if she wanted me to set it up for me, I declined as didn't want to have to work with them directly in the future regarding sales tactics (renewal/auto renewal, promotions etc), and maybe even getting notifications, pop ups from them if I did?

I also bought my license there and my is from affiliate in India. 7,5 € for three years license was just too good deal to pass.
I got notification three times so far in few months of using it, so it's not that bad for me. One of those was related to tracker remover so I disabled auto removal.

I have been using McAfee for quite some time, and only once did a pop-up appear asking me to change my search engine to Yahoo, which was in October. I saved the screenshot to share with you. I had forgotten about it, but now I remembered and found the screenshot I took that day. I simply unchecked the box, clicked "done," and that was it. No other pop-ups have appeared since then. That was the only pop-up that McAfee has displayed in over three months of use. :)

I’m a bit jealous of you guys. Just yesterday I received a popup saying I only had 29% of my RAM free — obviously trying to sell that PC Optimizer junk.

I also occasionally get popups asking me to run a scan after restarting the machine.

For what it’s worth, my license was purchased from a major computer hardware retailer here in Brazil (Kabum!).

Overall, I like the product quite a bit, but I really dislike how aggressively McAfee tries to keep reminding me that it exists.
