This testing methodology is redundant & fundamentally flawed and doesn't reflect how modern endpoint security actually works. By temporarily disabling the antivirus to download the malware archive, the test completely bypasses critical first-line defenses like web and download scanning. Manually firing a couple hundred executables from a local folder ignores true infection routes, strips away the behavioral context heuristic engines rely on, and simply creates a localized Denial of Service (DoS) attack that starves and crashes the system. This is exactly why industry-standard labs abandoned this outdated 'click-and-run' approach years ago in favor of real-world protection tests.

I’m 50 years old, and back in the day, this product was good. It used to be mentioned in the same breath as the big names like F-Secure, Norton, and McAfee. But then it fell by the wayside. It was originally launched under the name CAT. As good as Indian programmers and experts are, they’ve really fallen behind now, and Quick Heal, along with K7, is focusing on the Indian market.
