What I'm looking for?

Looking for medium feedback.

I'm experimenting with Ghostery's Private Search after using DuckDuckGo. It works well, although it does not offer image or similar searches. The interface is clean and provides links to Brave, Bing, and Google searches below.

I needed a filter for Vivaldi's ad blocker to hide YouTube Shorts. Here's the post and filter from the Vivaldi forum moderator. The filter proved effective in my Vivaldi Desktop test. It should work with Vivaldi on your other devices, too.
Post: BLOCK shorts/reels/doomscrolling

Minor changes:
Windows Defender Firewall: Enabled the "Block all incoming connections, including those in the list of allowed apps" setting.
Back to uBlock Origin Lite. Ghostery worked well, but it seems it's not strong against anti-ad blocking methods, especially on 🏴‍☠️ sites.
Trying McAfee WebAdvisor.

Can I use it without installing McAfee?
Or you can use the whole Web Advsior program, which you must install on your system. This gives you their secure search results, so it's more comprehensive than the extension.
To install McAfee WebAdvisor:
  1. Click Free Download.
  2. Click Save and select a location on your computer to save the WebAdvisor setup file.
NOTE: Depending on your web browser and settings, you might need to click a bar or button to allow the file download.
  3. When the download completes, open the setup program and follow the on-screen instructions to install McAfee WebAdvisor.
NOTE: After you restart your web browser, you might be prompted to select McAfee Secure Search as your default search provider.

Yes!
Edge extension: McAfee® WebAdvisor - Microsoft Edge Addons
Chrome extension: McAfee® WebAdvisor - Chrome Web Store

I believe the McAfee WebAdvisor extension is identical to the one included in the premium product. You don't need to use the WebAdvisor installer; the extension preferences allow you to choose Secure Search or any search engine. It also has social media protection. The secure search "color-code" icon showed up in DuckDuckGo and YouTube. McAfee WebAdvisor is not available in the Chrome Web Store. I got the extension link from the McAfee online help files.

Using both McAfee WebAdvisor Installer (for Windows) together with WebAdvisor Browser Extension has advantages... please take a look to my comment link below:

I had Comodo and H_C Tools on separate Eazy Fix snapshots, but I finally dumped Comodo and permanently switched to H_C Tools.
Replaced McAfee WebAdvisor to test Bitdefender TrafficLight.
Removed AnyDesk free and am trying RustDesk free.

I think you’ve made a good choice. Anyway, the difference between Web Advisor and Traffic Light will be very minimal, if any.

I avoid malicious/phishing extensions, but I'm testing these for our kids' devices. I'll taste some and pick one if I enjoy any. :)
Well, they are free and can block quite a lot of malicious downloads… You are already using ControlD like me (I got it on my router), but it doesn’t help when the malicious links are to an IP address (DNS won’t be used). So such extension does add some value.

They are very useful; Avira free has no web protection and rely on extension, so do Norton before becoming avasted and inheriting Avast web protection, and I think F-secure also.
I keep only three extensions: uBlock origin lite, dark reader, and one of three installed security extensions (McAfee webadvisor, Trafficlight, and Symantec browser protection); only one of them on at a time.

I updated the config, as I've been using Cloudflare Gateway for a while now. The kids' systems run NextDNS. I'll use the extension I select for our kids' devices.

Symantec browser protection
I've tried the Symantec Browser Extension, and after testing it, I removed it; the BrowserLeaks website detected Google DNS.

Since I am exaggerated, paranoid, and also hardcore, I keep five AV product extensions. At least if one fails, another will block it. 🤭
