hello,
i am looking for assistance for my system. i am sure that it is a big mess. hopefully, nothing too terribly difficult.
(i copied from above)
my little baby netbook is running slow. perphaps i'm not infected.
i do think that i have a browser redirect problem, at the very least!!
i believe (in my uneducated guess) that i also have a registry problem.
i have ran, reuscanner, and spent lots of time reading. (hopefully, that wasnt a waste of my time. just reading, no actions.)

*****currently this is my only system. i do have a new one on the way.
i have looked at this system as "my learning" place. i am not too terribly emotionally involved with it, tied to it. =)
i know that i have i have made a mess. i apologoize up front. like i said, i've been trying to learn. any asistance is GREATLY appreciated.******

please let me know what is needed next.

thank you so very much!!

andi

thanks for your reply. yes, i did change my browser to what i want. this is deeper, i think. i am giving this info based on my HJT logs.

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch =
i can not delete these 2 files.
well, i've only attempted from the HJT screen.
like i said, i have not made any "major" changes or deletes. only very simple things.

thank you for your response

Hi,

First of all, you have two antivirus products installed:
- Avast
- AVG

Uninstall one, and leave only one of them...

***********************
hello,
thanks for your reply.
if i have avast running, i am unaware. i downloaded the aswMBR tool, so
that i could run the scan/log to send when i created my post.

please point me in the right direction if ido have 2 anti virus programs
running.

sometimes i can miss things right under my nose!! i am leagally blind!!
that is no excuse for ignorance however.

in addition, i just finished running both mbar and mbam programs. full
scan.

0 items detected. please advise if i should attatch the logs.

thank you in advance
