A browser platform used to further sell you (and your data) with more vendor software.
For the sake of simplicity, here's my view:
- Clones Chromium
- Re-brands with their companies name + Secure + fancy Logo
- Infiltrates browser with baked-in vendor-created extensions, and some re-named free and open-source software
- Bundles with their security software
- Vendor-created extensions cannot be removed, only disabled
- Vendor-created extensions require additional software that runs outside of the browser
- Software requires a paid license for full-functionality
- Turning off vendor-created extension will throw a warning to the User that their data is at risk!
- Browser updates are delayed due to extra time required
- Vendor-created extensions may be flawed that expose you, or your data!
- Vendor clones a Dev or Beta branch of Chromium to test experimental features
- Vendor abandons project leaving Users vulnerable with flawed extensions and browser [Worst-case Scenario]
