Hi All,

Hope you are keeping very safe and well.

Could I please get some advice to, if I am using enough software to keep my PC safe from the internet and hackers and all other sorts of cyber threats?

I am using NordVPN, Malwarebytes, Wisecare 365 Pro, uBlock Origin, Malwarebytes Browser Guard. Is this enough security measures for my PC?

Kind Regards,
Gayan

Make sure your primary antivirus, Windows Defender, is up and running. If you would like, keep Malwarebytes as a backup scanner. Most users find uBlock Origin to be adequate; unless you specifically require Malwarebytes Browser Guard's scam-blocking capabilities, you can probably uninstall it. NordVPN is not a security program; it is a privacy tool. Wise Care 365 Pro is mainly a system optimizer and cleaner, not a security program.

In addition to software, regular system and browser updates are necessary for effective protection in order to patch security flaws, create strong, one-of-a-kind passwords that are managed by a password manager, and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever it is practical. Additionally, practicing safe browsing habits, such as avoiding suspicious links and untrusted downloads, and keeping backups of important files are critical non-software measures to mitigate cyber threats.

depends somewhat on how you're using your computer...

If the OP is using Nord, there are quite a few additions running on it such as CrowdStrike & tracking protection etc running in background, which adds another layer of protection: @taga Are you using Malwarebytes paid as your primary AV? To me it does seem you are well setup, adding further additions IMHO does not necessarily increase protection :)

Hi there! Your current setup looks pretty solid, but if you want to add an extra layer without bloating your PC with more software, I’d recommend looking into filtering DNS services (like NextDNS, Control D, or AdGuard DNS). They block threats and trackers before they even reach your browser.

Just a couple of things to keep in mind: if you are running NordVPN, your traffic goes through their own servers, so this custom DNS won't apply (though it’s still great for when you have the VPN turned off). Also, make sure your browser doesn't have its own "Secure DNS" enabled, as it might bypass the filter you set up. Cheers!💻🛡️ 🌐

fwiw I use Deep Instinct on win10 with MS Defender & 0patch. I think @Kongo uses it too. I just renewed it for a 3d year...
Yeah maybe he got us mixed up? I've never used DI but have heard good things. You have always held it in high regards.

But coming from someone who bought a Cylance :poop: subscription and Fortinet firewall :poop: you should never take my advice
