There haven't been any recent reviews for iolo System Shield. Just wondering if anyone here has tried it out and what are their thoughts on it.
Please provide comments and solutions that are helpful to the author of this topic.
RightWow! It looks like the old school Fake AV
I tested it recently. It's too heavy for my liking, and in my opinion there are much better alternatives for free. Also it is terrible at detecting PUPs, which may or may not be an issue depending on your point of view.
They use signatures from Cyren.Just wondering what signatures it uses as it seemed to do not so badly in a test(sponsored by pcmatic) over at wilders not so long ago.
They use signatures from Cyren.
I tested Defender Pro which is a cloud antivirus using Cyren's engine, around the same time. Defender Pro, did much better at detecting PUPs, but a lot worse at detecting malware.
Thats because it is a PUP lolAlso it is terrible at detecting PUPs,
Thats because it is a PUP lol
iolo uses two AV/AM engines.Cyren who took over Fprot a few years back and so presumably it was the Fprot sigs before the Cyren involvement ?
Interesting results and thanks Roger for the info as I knew System Shield used somebody`s signatures, just would have been surprised if they used their own.
