why doesn't Kaspersky monitor all ports by default?
Does it interfere with windows home network and shared printers and things like that?

I suppose so.
But i don't have any problems with this setting.

VT Hash Check tends to timeout a lot if you check too many files in a row. It also doesn't "reanalyze" malware that hasn't been updated in a few hour/days. Have you tried Adlice VTUploader? I personally use the official VTUploader, VT Hash Check, and Adlice VTUploader (for batch).

No, i haven't tried Adlice VTUploader. I don't check too many files in a row, just the files which i am about to use or install. I also check the file with Voodooshield (Ai) & KSN (Reputation).
I am happy with VT Hash Check as VTUploader tend to open browser to show the results so i changed it.
