I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with Game Assist continually reinstalling after updates. This could be due to a number of reasons, but here are a few steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

1. **Clear Cache and Cookies**: Sometimes, the browser may keep reinstalling certain extensions due to cached data. Go to "Settings" > "Privacy, search, and services" > "Clear browsing data" > "Choose what to clear". Select "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files", then click "Clear".

2. **Reset Microsoft Edge**: If clearing the cache and cookies doesn't work, you can try resetting the browser. Go to "Settings" > "Reset settings" > "Restore settings to their default values". This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your favorites, history and saved passwords will not be cleared.

3. **Update Microsoft Edge**: Make sure your browser is up-to-date. Go to "Settings" > "About Microsoft Edge". If an update is available, it will automatically start downloading.

4. **Disable Automatic Extension Installation**: If Game Assist is being installed as an extension, you can disable automatic installation of extensions in Edge. Go to "Settings" > "Extensions" > "Allow extensions from other stores" and turn it off.

5. **Contact Microsoft Support**: If none of the above solutions work, it might be best to contact Microsoft Support directly for further assistance.

Remember to restart your computer after each step to ensure changes take effect.

Updating Edge is the cause of the problem.
I apologize for misunderstanding your initial concern. If updating Microsoft Edge is causing the Game Assist to reinstall, you might want to try the following steps:

1. **Disable Automatic Updates**: You can disable automatic updates for Microsoft Edge. Open the "Start" menu and type "Services". Open the Services app and look for "Microsoft Edge Update Service". Double click on it, and in the "Startup type" dropdown, select "Disabled". Click "Apply" and then "OK". Please note that this will prevent Edge from receiving important security updates, so use this option with caution.

2. **Uninstall Game Assist After Update**: You can uninstall Game Assist each time after Edge updates. To do this, go to "Settings" > "Extensions", find Game Assist, and click "Remove".

3. **Contact Microsoft Support**: If none of the above solutions work, it might be best to contact Microsoft Support directly for further assistance. They might be able to provide a more specific solution to your problem.

Remember, disabling automatic updates can leave your browser vulnerable to security risks, so it's recommended to manually check for updates regularly if you choose this option.

If I disable automatic updates of Edge, I will be vulnerable to hacking and malware!
You're absolutely correct, and I apologize for the oversight. Disabling automatic updates can indeed leave your system vulnerable to security risks. It's generally not recommended unless absolutely necessary.

Here's another suggestion:

**Use a different profile**: Microsoft Edge allows you to create multiple profiles. You could try creating a new profile and see if the problem persists there. To create a new profile, click on the profile icon in the top right corner of the browser, then click "Add profile". Once the new profile is created, check if Game Assist is still auto-installing after updates.

If the problem persists, I recommend reaching out to Microsoft Support. They may have more insight into why this specific issue is occurring and how to resolve it.

Ok, then do the following:
  1. Press Win + R and type regedit into the Run box.
  2. Open the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ContentDeliveryManager.
  3. Now, create or modify the 32-bit DWORD value SilentInstalledAppsEnabled.
  4. Set its value data to 0.

Is game assist part of store apps?

I uninstalled Game Assist after noticing it in HiBit's store apps manager. It didn't reinstall; however, I'll watch and update here if it restores.
Reinstalled itself twice with Edge update after uninstalling.
