App Review Symantec Endpoint Protection 2026

It is advised to take all reviews with a grain of salt. In extreme cases some reviews use dramatization for entertainment purposes.

Symantec Endpoint Security has been steadily improving and has shown noticeable progress since Cruelsister’s video review last year. The product takes an aggressive approach to blocking web-based threats and suspicious downloads, and it can be easily configured to suit older adults who may be more vulnerable to phishing emails. The downside of the product is that you can’t turn off its web protection, which you could in earlier versions. I really wish Symantec would make it an option in the product to disable this setting, or at least ask users during installation so we have a choice. Other than that, I’d rank Symantec right up there with Kaspersky, and the best part is it offers better detection than Avast without concerns about your data. However, I think Avast has learned its lesson, and after the Norton buyout, I doubt they’ll allow those issues to continue.

Not being able to turn off web protection can be helpful in some cases, especially if the person using the computer isn’t what we’d call an “advanced user.” Symantec should definitely make it an option during installation for the user or administrator to choose. Maybe someone on the Symantec forums could bring up this suggestion.
