I had some errors at startup and as solution I tried a System Restore( Windows 8 OS). It's been 3 hours and on my laptop display appears this : "please wait while your Windows files and settings are being restored System Restore is initializing..." Is this normal? What to do?
I'm waiting for so long. My Windows came pre-installed I am afraid of loosing it.

If this is continued from,
http://malwaretips.com/Thread-Startup-problem ?

It could mean System Restore has crashed/frozen, you may need to hard turn off the PC. Hold down the power button for 5 to 10 seconds.

Windows 8 contains a new features that allows the user to Refresh or Reset their PC with ease.
To access:
Win+C > Settings > Change PC Settings > General > Scroll down to see them.

More info:

More technical:

There is also Advanced Startup, but I'm not completely sure how to access this, if you can't load Windows.

Thank you. I turned it off as you said. After 10-15 minutes and a blue screen, Windows started with an error which said that System restore didn't work so nothing was changed on my computer.
Also at startup I don't have that dialog box with System event notification so everything seems fine.
Thanks for help, I think it's ok now.
