The Youtube ads have nothing to do with the TV though, the ads are coming from Google.

They can't be blocked DNS level anyway.

I know. I was trying out the method suggested by the article........by blocking in the router

My SONY TV don't bother me much, my Virgin Media media box tries to incessantly get me to rent videos etc, nothing really can be done as it's fibre system.

I personally use LG and don't get any ads, but I don't live in USA

It's not all about ads. I think that tracking is a bigger problem.

As to tracking Virgin Media (Liberty) give a good service but when I hear people say RE: a VPN you need to trust your VPN provider more than your ISP after reading Virgin's privacy (lack of) policy they track every site & use that information in various ways including ad's - I don't trust VM at all, that's why I use a VPN.

Still thankful I don't live in USA, they can't track me without my consent, and I didn't had to accept any ToS to use my LG TV
