SpyShelter 10.1 is a big step towards better privacy protection. SpyShelter Free Anti-Keylogger is now working with 64 bit platforms and it includes a limited Keystroke Encryption driver. SpyShelter Premium and SpyShelter Firewall also received a new advanced feature – user defined protected files list.

SpyShelter Free was released on June 2010 and it was dedicated for 32bit operating systems only. Since then it’s anti-keylogging capabilities were evolving together with SpyShelter Premium and SpyShelter Firewall. Today, we lift the 32bit embargo. From now on SpyShelter Free Anti-Keylogger (yes, the name has also changed) supports Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 32&64bit.

On top of that, it is equipped with a limited keystroke encryption driver. While SpyShelter Premium and SpyShelter Firewall encrypt keystrokes of all applications, SpyShelter Free Anti-Keylogger keystroke encryption driver is limited to major browsers only (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera Browser).

SpyShelter Free Anti-Keylogger also became available for commercial use.

NOTE: Microsoft Edge is not officially supported by our keystroke encryption driver. It might work on some machines, but we do not guarantee it at the moment. This applies only to keystroke encryption module, keep in mind that your Edge is still protected by standard Anti Keylogger modules and System Protection (HIPS) – as you probably already know SpyShelter offers two layers of protection against monitoring malware.

You can read more about differences between SpyShelter Free Anti-Keylogger and paid versions here.

We have also added a new feature for advanced users – It is now possible to create a list of files that will require additional permission when a process tries to access the file – Read more here.

SpyShelter 10.1 Changelog:

– SpyShelter Free Anti-Keylogger now supports 64bit systems
– Free version offers now limited keystroke encryption feature
– Fixed a crash that occured in Network List
– Fixed a freeze problem in Windows 10
– Added early support for Windows 10 build 10525
– Other small improvements and fixes

ZAL just detect keyloggers and block them ; SS in addition, encrypt your keystroke so even if you have data leaked , the intruder cant read them.

When i used ZAL years ago, it had limited protection on x64 systems...and i just checked the site , i dont see any changes in that.

I checked again ZAL free page and they said that ZAL "Protects every application on your computer, and not just your web browser" and scrambling keystroke. source

In the other hand, spyshelter explain that they limit scope of encryption into popular web browser (in free edition). So, In my opinion ZAL free provide better protection than spyshelter free edition.

Not bad I guess but it should at least include protection for "low-level keyloggers" in the free version.

how it compare to zemana antilogger free?
I haven't used ZAL Free in over a year (uninstalled around early 2014), but it increased boot time. The latest product version was released in December of 2014, with last updates from March, 2015.

You can check the site's comparisons, or search the web for any tests between the two.

I can't run any steam game when protection is ON... xD
Can Steam or Steam Games be excluded, or must SS Free Anti-Keylogger be disabled?

Why?

Does Zemana Anti-Logger Free provide low-level protection?

I'm not sure if it does or doesn't.

Zemana free does basically one thing: encrypt keystrokes. It does it well.
Spyshelter does a whole slew of things.
Also, I had an issue with zemana, it make the cursor blink. (win10 pro x64)

Would be nice to see a video review on SpyShelter Firewall as that seams to be there crown jewel and I have a feeling it would have a very high kill rate. Throwing at it for example the latest Ransom32 and a few other nasties would be very interesting. It's available for free the first 14 days.

I am not so motivated to check out paid solutions, but I think that WD+MBAE free+Spyshelter free might actually be a killer combo for people who want to go the freebie way.

I've tried SpyShelter before, and I loved it. I didn't however love the time limit for the free edition. Maybe one day I'll get around to it, if need be.

...the time limit for the free edition.

That's odd as they don't seam to mention that on there site or perhaps I missed that information somewhere and it's only available after you installed it?

When I had installed it a few months ago, it said that because I had the free edition, I would randomly be locked out of the program every couple of hours, and in order to turn it back on, I had to restart my computer.

I don't think the new version does that. They used to have a trial version that turned itself into the nightmare you are describing, but now they offer a bona fide free version with limited features.
