Thanks for sharing about Shell. It indeed seems like a versatile tool for customizing the context menu. The fact that it's lightweight, portable, and open source makes it even more appealing. I'll definitely check it out. Also, thanks for the heads up for dark theme users.

Like with any software, there are potential risks:

Accidental Deletion of Important Context Menu Items: If you're not careful, you could remove essential options from the context menu.

Malware or Viruses: While it's unlikely, it's always possible that a malicious version of Shell could be distributed. Downloading from trusted sources is crucial.

Download from the Official Source: Ensure you get Shell from the official Nilesoft website.

Backup Your System: Before making significant changes, create a system restore point or backup your important files.

Exercise Caution: Be mindful of the changes you make and avoid removing essential context menu items.

If you're unsure about making specific changes, it's always a good idea to create a backup of the shell.shl configuration file before proceeding.

That is why I liked Brink's version when I used it. It was less intrusive, and he also included the easy (undo) disable option as well.

I used this way before, but the look and feel of the context menu when using it is more related to Windows 10 than 11, I liked this one because it uses Windows 11 theme, by the way I don't add or remove items, I just use it as is.

I wish if Microsoft will listen to users and enable full context menu by default or give the option to apply that, and not use a 3rd party software to do that.

I had it bookmarked but never installed it before seeing your post. I have to say that I like it. It's basically the old context-menu + more with the Windows 11 theme. Even loads slightly faster than the new context menu 👌

And the most important is that it never crashed, sometimes I forget that I installed it and think it is Windows 11 default menu, but I remember it every time I see a video review for @Shadowra when she takes 2 steps to scan a folder using context menu and I wonder: why her menu looks like this? 🤔 it is why I decided to create this post. 😁
