E.g. it exist a difference between secure browser (Chromium based) and less secure browser (Firefox based).
Same also for Windows - Linux.

So it indeed make a difference

He didn't say there was no difference, just that you don't have to follow another person's advice that is based on different requirement and threat models. The point is that not everybody has the same threat model and risk tolerance. Those who require a low risk tolerance or have a specific threat model in mind have different needs and requirements. It's not like Firefox users are being exploited at the rate that Chromium enthusiasts make it sound like.
