yikes, seems like just a few days ago you had reinstalled Fedora and liking it. Oh, read it again, your laptop died, a hardware death? so it's a new laptop? Lenovo Thinkpad?? But several times you have spoken so positively about Fedora, why not put Fedora on the new laptop? Just curious. I created a VM with Ubuntu but preferring MX, so I may wipe Ubuntu and replace with Fedora. Or is Manjaro more interesting in your opinion. Where do you read to decide? The distrowatch blurbs aren't telling me enough, and each distros website obviously loves their linux. I only have the vaguest idea how Arch is than <insert distro here> ...After my old laptop died with Fedora and i am completely Windows Free, here is my new Setup.

I like Fedora, but its no secret i really like Manjaro. Manjaro really never fails me and runs really good. I know there are alot of cons from some people against Manjaro but for me its the only real stable distro.yikes, seems like just a few days ago you had reinstalled Fedora and liking it. I may have missed your previous manjaro posts. So between fedora & manjaro you prefer, ie, manjaro "only real stable distro" Thanks... Yes the old laptop is thrown away, dead as can be.
If you have time, download Manjaro and try, dont be afraid its Arch, you will get the hang of it,I may have missed your previous manjaro posts. I see DE options so opinion welcome: my MX uses xfce4 as is my FreeBSD and I like xfce. I have ubuntu Gnome have not used it much and / but like xfce more (so far). So should I stick with xfce or install KDE Plasma? sorta "funny" the above template does not list DE.If you have time, download Manjaro and try, dont be afraid its Arch, you will get the hang of it,
If you like XFCE install XFCE version, it is the flagship for Manjaro, and it is one of the best XFCE distros on Linux.I see DE options so opinion welcome: my MX uses xfce4 as is my FreeBSD and I like xfce. I always use Gnome, love the simplicity and also rock stable. If you like XFCE install XFCE version, it is the flagship for Manjaro, and it is one of the best XFCE distros on Linux.
I may give manjaro a try on Sunday... if I get to it, I was going to do it Saturday evening but got sidetracked...I always use Gnome, love the simplicity and also rock stable.
I read that Arch hardened for security is good+ (according to chatGPT) since Manjaro is Arch, can it be hardened...? (chatGPT says yes)I always use Gnome, love the simplicity and also rock stable.
Mullvad is not available for Manjaro, well not the easy way.Question: I am not finding mullvad vpn any Manjaro repos? I do find protocols wireguard & Qopenvpn. is it risky to download and install from outside Manjaro repo...?
suggestions welcome.
EDIT PS I took a look at Manjaro forum, & it seemed like "too much" for tonight...
Mullvad is available in AUR. But AUR packages are built for Arch while Manjaro delays Arch updates, so there could be occasions when there will be dependency issues and in worst scenario even system breakage when installing something from AUR in Manjaro. It's one of the reasons why Manjaro is not a recommended Arch based distro.Question: I am not finding mullvad vpn any Manjaro repos?
