Solved Unknown Malware, Browser popups, etc

I have what appears (to me) to be an unknown and stubborn malware or virus infection on my computer. I gto it sometime around December 23 from an unknown locattion. I started getting various new tabs, usually two at a time, opening up in Chrome. They have been various tabs including iLivid, various claims to need to update software, gaming sites, and dating sites. I have run many of the tools that I am aware of including Malware Bites, JRT, iExplore, tdsskiller, RogueKiller, Adwcleaner, Hitman Pro, and while some have appeared to find and deleted/quarantined suspicious files, the problem has not gone away. I have also reset Chrome with no luck. I am fairly computer literate, but this infection seems pretty stubborn. Would appreciate any help.

• I visit forum several times at day, making sure to respond to everyone's topic as fast as possible. But bear in mind that I have private life like everyone and I cannot be here 24/7. So please be patient with me. Also, some infections require less, and some more time to be removed completely, so bear this in mind and be patient.
• Please stay with me until the end of all steps and procedures and I declare your system clean. Just because there is a lack of symptoms does not indicate a clean machine. If you solved your problem yourself, set aside two minutes to let me know.

Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit to your desktop.

• Double-click the icon to start the tool.
• It will ask you where to extract it, then it will start.
• Warning! Malwarebytes Anti-Rootkit needs to be run from an account with administrator rights.
• Click in the introduction screen "next" to continue.
• Click in the following screen "Update" to obtain the latest malware definitions.
• Once the update is complete select "Next" and click "Scan".
• When the scan is finished and no malware has been found select "Exit".
• If malware was detected, make sure to check all the items and click "Cleanup". Reboot your computer.
• Open the MBAR folder and paste the content of the following files in your next reply:
  • "mbar-log-{date} (xx-xx-xx).txt"
  • "system-log.txt"

Scan with Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

Please re-run Farbar Recovery Scan Tool to give me a fresh look at your system.

• Right-click on
  
  icon and select
  
  Run as Administrator to start the tool.
  (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File).
• Make sure that Addition option is checked.
• Press Scan button and wait.
• The tool will produce two logfiles on your desktop: FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

I am still getting occasional instances in Chrome by whatever infection I have of opening new tabs to the various sites...dating sites, claims I am infected and need to download new software, gaming sites, etc.

1. Yes, happens on all websites. If I have Chrome set to run in the background, it will even open Chrome to the foreground with two tabs of malicious sites. Earlier in my attempts to fix myself, I did reset Chrome. I can try other browsers for awhile and see if they have the same problems, but I like Chrome and would ultimately prefer to fix it.

Just got back and no attempted pop-ups in IE. However, I had forgotten to disable "Allow Chrome to run in background" and so it had opened itself with 4 tabs of spam. I will run the toll you asked next and post results.
